One held with heroin worth Rs 14.16 crore at Akhaura integrated check post

Agartala, Jun 11 (FD) Customs officials of Akhaura integrated check post have detained on individual, who was coming from Bangladesh, with heroin worth Rs 14.16 crore on Friday last.

Acting on a tip-off, police detained the person and conducted a search and recovered 2.023 kg heroin contained in two packets from a suitcase.

In order to escape the contraband from the eyes of customs officials, the accused allegedly rapped the heroine packets by X-ray blocking papers.

Police registered a case under NDPS act and produced him before a local court. The court sent the accused to jail custody. FD PD
